Arctic Circle Trail
Greenland’s Arctic Circle Trail is one of the most remote official hiking trails in the world. From Kangerlussuaq near the Ice Sheet to Sisimiut on the coast, it is an opportunity to disconnect completely as you make your way through wild Arctic tundra.
Distance:
110km / 68 miles
Duration:
8 Days / 7 nights
Season:
July - August
Difficulty:
Challenging
Group size:
6-8 people
The trail itself is extremely narrow
〰️
Expect very wet conditions
〰️
Even seasoned thru-hikers of the Camino, the Pacific Crest Trail, Laugavegur, or Kungsleden will find the ACT far more difficult, as it is not a well-formed trail.

Explore part of the Aasivissuit-Nipisat UNESCO World Heritage site – a protected Inuit hunting route that has been use for more than 4,500 years
Learn about the different plants and how the Inuit used them
Learn about life in Greenland and Inuit mythology
Completely Off the Grid
There are no resupply points, or towns between Kangerlussuaq and Sisimiut. You carry everything you need with you, from food to gear, embracing complete self-sufficiency in a place where nature sets the rhythm.
There is no cell phone signal anywhere along the trail. And that’s part of the beauty. Without notifications, calls, or distractions, you'll experience a rare kind of quiet that allows you to be fully present with the landscape, your thoughts, and the journey itself.
SAFETY FIRST!
While you’ll be off the grid, your guide carries a satellite communication device used for emergency contact and location tracking.
It ensures peace of mind without breaking the solitude. A shared tracking link also allows friends and family to follow your journey in real time.
Leave no trace
We will take 8 days / 7 nights to hike between Kangerlussuaq and Sisimiut during which time you must carry everything you need for the duration of the trek (there is no re-supply option). Most hikers usually start with about 20kg which includes their tent, sleeping system, and enough food for 11 days.
We follow Leave No Trace principles, so you must be prepared to carry all your trash (including used toilet paper) out with you.
What is required
You must have previous multi-day hiking experience, where you have carried your own equipment, before signing up for the trip. It is also required that you train before your hike to get used to the weight, strengthen your ankle support, and improve your balance on very narrow tracks.
Feel free to contact us if you’d like to know more about the trip or have any questions. We look forward to showing you our homeland.
